Urban Development Vision 2.0 — The City and the Lakes

The Urban Development Vision takes an overall perspective, studying a great number of different interactions and aspects having a crucial importance for the future development of Jönköping. The Vision deals primarily with the area surrounding Lake Munksjön, i.e. the area between Lake Vättern and the E4 motorway, referred to as the “urban regional core". It is primarily concerned with the physical environment, including the development of new housing areas and workplaces, about city life and content, its upkeep, accessibility etc. Urban development within the core area will be realised during a long period of time, and thus considers and covers various sub-areas.

The goal of the development process is to create a city centre which will be considered as the most attractive of its size in Scandinavia.
