Culture and Pastimes
Jönköping offers a wide selection of music performances given by both amateurs and professionals, often at the Jönköping Concert Hall. There are also a number of theatrical societies and stages, some 15 libraries, and 120 cultural societies.
Jönköping has a number of museums, some of them quite unique. The Match Museum shows the workers´ situation and the manufacturing methods behind the wealth of the match industry and its development into a global concern. Jönköping´s County Museum has a permanent exhibition of the life and work of the local writer and renowned artist John Bauer.
The Jönköping Film Festival, the traditional Market Day, Children´s Culture Days and the Dance Festival are annual attractions and events.
